SINGAPORE - Targeting corporations which require managed solutions with "access anywhere" and "encrypt anywhere" Client/LAN-to-LAN connections, StarHub Internet today launched its Managed IP-VPN solution.

"StarHub Internet's Managed IP-VPN is a global solution for customers to outsource their VPN requirements to a Service Provider like StarHub Internet without having to shoulder the responsibility of procurement, commissioning, maintenance and management while retaining ownership and privacy of user lists," said Kyong Yu, general manager of StarHub Internet.

StarHub Internet's Managed IP-VPN solution is currently available for deployment in over 20 countries worldwide, such as Japan, Hong Kong, Australia and major cities in USA and Europe. More locations will be progressively added.

This service is rolled out together with iPass, which provides the dial-up roaming access service through its global network, and Intel, for the on-site customer support, installation and encryption technology of the NetStructure VPN hardware and software.

StarHub Internet will offer VPN deployment and network management as well as on-site support on either a four-hour response or a next-business-day basis.

The global-dial VPN capability provides access to corporate LANs and Intranets through the Internet from over 8000 Points-of-Presence (PoPs) in 150 countries with secure encryption of up to 168 bits.

Kyong said that StarHub Internet will be rolling out more services for both corporate and consumer audiences over the next few months. These include a Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) product and a WebCasting product, which will be ready by the end of the year.

A spokesperson from Starhub Internet also revealed that the company has committed an investment of S$200 million in IP-related services.
