Seek picks new CIO

Online employment site Seek has appointed Tam Vu as its new chief information officer.

Vu will lead a team of IT professionals responsible for enabling and innovating new products for the job Web site. He will also ensure IT is aligned with the business direction of Seek.

Vu was the former CIO of BP's global retail business based in London. Prior to that, he was also the IT director for Mars Asia Pacific.

Vu has more than 15 years of IT experience having worked in Europe, US and Asia Pacific in a diverse range of industries.

Vu said he wants Seek to be an "innovative organisation" through the use of information technology.

"It is not enough for us to be ahead of the curve. We need to move to another level in order to stay competitive. Seek lives on the Web therefore I would like to see the IT team partner with business operations more actively to drive new business solutions," Vu said.
