The South Australian Government has locked in Dimension Data for a further three years under a managed network and security deal worth $36 million, with the government shaving off over $1 million a year from the value of the past contract.
Having originally been brought in with former IT services giant EDS in 2006, DiData has seen the value of its work cut by $4 million under the new deal.
The deal, signed off by SA government chief information officer Andrew Mills, covers the state's 200 agencies, according to DiData chief technology officer, Gerard Florian. "We work with each agency based on their requirements ... which are different for police, education and health," he said at a briefing yesterday at the Cisco Networkers conference on the Gold Coast.
DiData provided on-site services in South Australia, with remote monitoring services delivered from its Melbourne-based service centre.
DiData was recently pipped by Optus after being shortlisted for a $60.5 million a year deal with the Australian Taxation Office.
