Last month the directors of Com-Cen, Liam Bal and Peter Stevens, were included in an action by six major record labels over mp3s4free.net, a Web site which linked to copyright-infringing music files.
The two parties are currently before Justice Brian Tamberlin at the Federal Court in Sydney to decide whether the directors and an employee should be included in the legal action. Peter Stevens has already been dropped from proceedings.
The case is likely to set a legal precedent over the level of liability Internet Service Providers must assume for what their infrastructure is used for.
