New CEO to reverse Commander's fortunes?

in brief After a difficult 12 months in which its share price has plummeted from over AU$2 to under AU$0.50, telco Commander has appointed a new managing director.

From today, Amanda Lacaze will assume the role of acting managing director and CEO. Current CEO Adrian Coote will remain as the official CEO until the 7 January next year to assure a "smooth transition", Commander said.

Lacaze has previously worked as CEO for AOL/7 and executive chairman of Orion Telecommunications.

"With extensive experience in the telecommunications sector and a proven track record of optimising the performance of public companies, the Board is confident Amanda Lacaze has the skills and experience to set the course for Commander's future success," Commander chairman Elizabeth Nosworthy said in a statement.

Been seeing a lot of those commander vans about the city lately.

Hope the hard work pays off.

    Stephen??? Anonymous -- 11/12/07

    I think you mean Adrian...

Adrian, not Stephen. Anonymous -- 11/12/07

It would be nice if you got the passing-out CEO's name correct. That would be Adrian Coote, not Stephen.

It's really no wonder that so many of the articles about Commander are hugely erroneous when the press can't even get the simple things, like the CEO's name, correct.

Well said... Anonymous -- 11/12/07 (in reply to #320091447)

It's laughable some of the crap that gets published about them...

This is what happens when you let people with no experience write your copy.

I believe this 'journo' up until a few months a ago was working at a remuneration consulting firm...

The name of Commander's CEO has been corrected to Adrian Coote. Thanks to the poster who spotted the error.

    Amazing Coincidence Anonymous -- 11/12/07

How just before someone at ZDNet posted the mistake had been created, you get these juvenile defending posts.. Makes you think....

PS Getting someones name wrong is not really a typo...

seen this pattern before here, looks like staffers defending their own in a pathetic way...

would be better if they faced up to their problems...

The smart have long departedq John -- 11/12/07

I doubt the smarter emplyees will be defending this article, they have already left Volante....commander leaving the cable jockeys running handsets once again

Mhmm Anonymous -- 12/12/07 (in reply to #320091482)

And you would be one of said "smarter employees" I'm guessing?
