Network storage gets MS approval

Vendor gets approval from Microsoft for file storage system to be used with NT and 2000.

Network Appliances has announced that its NetApp F700 filers system has been given Microsoft Hardware Compatibility List (HCL) approval, making them the first vendor to have HCL certification.

NettApp has been tested by Microsoft and cleared for use on Windows NT4.0 and Windows 2000 enterprise operating systems. The testing ensure products are easy to use and reliable and take advantage of the features on these two operating systems, neither of which seem to comply with parameters of the testing themselves.

The NettApp F700 file storage systems and content delivery product runs Data ONTAP software or higher. As a result of the testing NettApp can wear the 'Designed for Windows' moniker for storage/RAID category.
