The centre, which will implement and support mobile, fixed and broadband solutions for Ericsson globally, will initially employ 30 staff. Ericsson plans for that headcount to double, and will invest AU$5 million annually in future years. Ericsson Australia currently employs around 1,000 people.
The new centre will also work with a second centre in Sweden to provide 24/7 global back-office support for Ericsson's entire IP product portfolio.

"We won the facility as a result of our regions leading technical expertise in services and proven innovation across each of the three product sectors - mobile, fixed and broadband."
"Moving forward we expect that the number of products and solutions with IP integrated technology will grow. As a result we will be ready to grow the Australian IP centre - when it becomes necessary."
