in brief Adobe has announced overnight that it will cut 680 jobs, approximately 9 per cent of its global workforce.
"These reductions span all businesses, geographies and job levels. In APAC there is some minor impact; however, we will not be releasing any details," a spokesperson for Adobe Australia and New Zealand told ZDNet.com.au. "We are restructuring our business to align costs with our fiscal 2010 operating plan [...] and the realities of the business environment".
The software giant said that the layoffs would cost up to US$71 million, in a filing to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. No former Omniture employees would be impacted by the cuts — Omniture had its own 9 per cent workforce reduction after being acquired by Adobe.
This round of job cuts came less than a year after Adobe cut 600 jobs citing less-than-anticipated demand for its Creative Suite 4 series of products.

Gee this must be good news for all their employees - and just before Christmas as well.
ACS are you there? Anybody home? APESMA?
