The Australian arm of Infosys has seen a leadership change, with Gary Ebeyan handing over the local reins of the Indian outsourcing giant to ex-IBM business process specialist, Jacqueline Korhonen.
Ebeyan, who joined Infosys as part of its $31 million acquisition of local IT services company Expert in 2003, has quit his role for personal reasons, according to a statement by Infosys Technologies Australia today.
Replacing Ebeyan is Korhonen, who most recently served as vice president of IBM Australia and New Zealand's Managed Business Process Services. She will take over the lead role on 15 December. Ebeyan said he would remain with the company in an advisory capacity until January 2009.
"I leave the company knowing that the future has never looked brighter for it. I thank the Infosys Technologies management for putting their trust in me over the past five years, and wish the company, its employees and my successor Jackie all the very best for the future," Ebeyan said in a statement.
"The past five years have been a challenging and rewarding experience for me. The company has gone from strength to strength in every year of operation in Australia and has had phenomenal growth in revenues, profits and clients," he added.
Kris Gopalakrishnan, CEO and Managing Director, Infosys Technologies, welcomed Korhonen. "Jackie brings with her vast experience in our industry, knowledge of the market and proven leadership qualities to take our business in the region to the next level," he said.
