The Index showed that there were 371 fewer IT&T jobs advertised online in July, following a 3.55 percent rise in June, causing the IT&T job sector to slip to 14th position in the performance stakes of 21 job divisions surveyed last month.
However, the index showed promising results in the small multimedia, internet and graphic design sector, indicating significant job growth in July.
Graduate roles in the IT&T sector also rose, according to the index, by 28.92 percent in July, equating to average of 107 jobs advertised per week; 24 more roles than the weekly average for June.
Director of Olivier Recruitment Group, Robert Olivier, said despite the results the IT sector usually performs better in July.
"Uncertainty about the election outcome may have stalled IT&T recruitment which has had consistent growth over the past 12 months", he said.
