The Minister for Communications and Information Technology, Senator Helen Coonan, is expected to release the report during a speech in Sydney.
The report is expected to find that ICT's contribution to productivity is generally underestimated, but will increase and contribute greatly to the nation's gross domestic product over the next 20 years.
Senator Coonan's Department of Communications, Information Technology and the Arts has conducted various research in this area over the years, some of which can be found tabled on its Web site.
