Vodafone has pushed forward with its plan to integrate its Australian, New Zealand and Fijian CRM systems surreptitiously since late last year when the mobile telecom provider began seeking expressions of interest in the project from suppliers and system integrators.
Vodafone is still shy of discussing the project but it released a short statement confirming that it had entered the preliminary stages of the project, awarding the system integration role to IBM.
The mobile carrier was today not prepared to reveal what other companies had found a place in its partner and supplier line-up for the task.
Vodafone said it expected the project to have a significant impact on its business in the South Pacific region. When the project is completed Vodafone will no longer need to maintain and manage three different CRM systems currently serving its Australia, New Zealand and Fiji operations.
"This project provides us with the opportunity to leverage Vodafone's global scale and create common systems, which will ultimately help us to service the various needs of our customers and deliver a seamless Vodafone experience," said the company in a statement it released today.
A spokeswoman for Vodafone said the company would not outline more detail about its vision for the new integrated system ahead of further announcements it expected to make January next year.

Vodafone MUST be retarded !!

It took 5 years to deliver 1/3 of the project ,
$300 million dollars over budget & still , to this day 2 years later, doesn't work properly & isn't fully implemented.
