According to a spokesperson from Land and Property Information (LPI), it was looking at expanding electronic lodgment facilities for documents such as mortgages, transfers, and leases.
-The development is in its early stages, but it is planned to shortly trial the electronic lodgment of documents with one or more of the major banks," he said.
In related news, new legislation has been passed which NSW Minister for Information Technology, Kim Yeadon, said would allow lodgement of land subdivision plans over the Internet.
-Electronic lodgement of eplans represents a significant change to Government business practice, and a cultural shift for the land development industry," Yeadon said.
