The information and communications technology industry forum, conceived by Deakin University and Gordon Institute of TAFE, aims to involve local business and upcoming technology professionals.
It will allow businesses in the region to share ideas and contribute to the industry without travelling to Melbourne, according to organisers.
Steve Gale, education manager of Gordon's ICT programs, said the forum was a wonderful opportunity for the Geelong region.
"Industry and education partnerships generate new ICT skills and knowledge to the benefit of all organisations. In the long run it will be of great benefit to local industry," Gale said in a statement.
The forum's first meeting will be held at Gordon Institute of TAFE on Thursday.
