Froggy fends off Suleman slurs

Sydney-based ISP Froggy has once again found its self swept up in a barrage of bad press surrounding its founder Karl Suleman. Despite a concerted advertising campaign incorporating billboards and the print media, joint owner and director John Paterson said the company continues to be dogged by the scandal surrounding the Suleman name.

-We are increasing our subscribers, putting on more staff, conducting extensive training workshops for the staff, taking out extensive advertising and we still get caught up in all this negativity," Paterson said. -I am determined to break the back of this Suleman coverage."

Reluctant to take legal action against publications that have misrepresented actual ties between Suleman and Froggy, Paterson said he intends to focus his efforts on the ISP product line and levels of service.

-Eighty percent of our new customers are coming from referrals, so clearly those using the service are happy with us," Paterson said. -We have a lot more developments on the cards, and I want to see us grow to become one of the largest youth employers in the area, but every time Suleman's name hits the press Froggy gets dragged into it."

Although Paterson said the customer base continues to expand regardless of the misrepresentation, he is concerned the affect such news reports have on staff.

-When they see articles about Suleman that still relate him back to Froggy they take it lightly, but you can tell it is weighing on them," Paterson said.

I don't think so "Froggy fends Suleman slurs" Their staff was useless and incompetent and their Internet speed was appalling when you actually got in and stayed connected for more than a few minutes.

I moved three dialup accounts for mobile reps from BigPond to Froggy when BigPond put up prices and wanted 12 month contracts. So far Froggy has been great, their 0198xx local call number works well, speed seems as good as BigPond. I hope that Froggy do well.

The more competition the better as far as I am concerned. However, how ridiculous that they bought the base and didn't change the company name.

Can't imagine there would have been a lot of goodwill associated with this brand...it's their own fault, they had a great chance to start afresh.

Let's see how long they last.

It is unfortunate that ill-informed people make arbitrary (unsubstantiated) comments that they have not properly researched.

The Froggy service is one of the most advanced in the country and they are one of the few ISPs that has a single national dial number - I think Telstra is the only other.

The Froggy system currently works on a per user system (not on a contended ports based model like Telstra, OzEmail, etc.) and the network is not throtlled like some ISPs.

If anyone is getting a slow connection, it is probably because of poor quality copper, eg. telehone line, nothing else!

The infrastructure provided by Froggy is one of the most advanced in the country, offering unlimited hours per (4 hour session disconnect applies) and unlimited downloads for $19.95 + web space and email. Where else do you get that from a reputable supplier?

The fact the person chose to use "anonymous" says alot about them backing up their statements.

If you checkout their site, they have a new 2 month free offer too.

We have many clients using their service as a backup / secondary for our DSL product and think its great.
