Destra, Yahoo extend deal

Destra Corporation Limited and Yahoo Australia & NZ have extended their existing business relationship, entering into an exclusive deal to provide domain names via the Yahoo! Australia & NZ SME Web site.

The initiative will see Destra's subsidiary Ozhosting.com undertake the sale of domain names exclusively across the Yahoo! Australia & NZ networks.

Destra has entered into three separate initiatives with Yahoo! Australia & NZ over the last six months "aimed at providing leading online services and products to individuals and SME consumers".

The first two included an exclusive Web hosting alliance announced last March whereby Yahoo! Australia & NZ and Ozhosting.com introduced a jointly branded Web hosting product to the domestic SME marketplace.

The two companies also went into an exclusive sales alliance agreement last May, introducing an expanded suite of products and services being offered to the SME marketplace including Web site building tools, e-commerce and marketing solutions.

Destra's chief executive officer, Domenic Carosa said, "Destra will continue to explore with Yahoo! Australia & NZ on other complementary products and services that might be introduced."

Cliff Rosenberg, managing director, Yahoo! Australia & NZ said "Yahoo! is committed to providing SME's with the best possible products and services. For this reason we are extending our partnership with Destra to include the provision of domain names."
