During her speech at this year's Consensus Software Awards in Sydney, Senator Lundy said the Australian ICT sector was an important sector from a political point-of-view. The political system in Australia had to create an environment optimal for success of this sector, she said.
In particular, Lundy pointed to the need for political emphasis on Australian small to medium enterprises (SMEs).

Ephox Pty Ltd (for its EditLive software); E-easy Pty Ltd (for its accounting solution E-easy Notebooks V3.00); Eurofield Information Solutions Pty Ltd (for Megalex/eCompress, its electronic dictionary publishing system); My Virtual Accountant (for its automated Internet-based business improvement solution for SMEs); Think Software Pty Ltd (for its communications tool OmniScope); Transcom Software Inc (for its Rapid Development Platform); Soprano Designs Pty Ltd (for its Soprano Parking, a mobile device which allows for parking minutes on meters to be purchased using a mobile device); Econsult Management Consultants Pty Ltd (for its SuperModeller, a tool for managing, analysing and reporting information); Vesereo Pty Ltd (for Vesereo, designed to allow organisations to exchange information and communicate securely over the Internet).
Vesereo also won IBM's Global Potential Award. The prize package includes ongoing potential partnership discussions with IBM, and a visit to the IBM DeveloperWorks Live! Conference in San Francisco next month.
