CSC retains AU$17m customer

Victorian electricity distributor Powercor-CitiPower has signed a AU$17.8 million, five-year IT services contract with CSC.

The largest distributor of electricity in Victoria, Powercor-CitiPower provides services to 930,000 customers across the state.

Under the terms of the contract, CSC will provide a range of IT-related services, including desktop, helpdesk, midrange, network, security and disaster recovery. The contract was signed last month and began on October 1.

CSC held the previous contract for Powercor-CitiPower's IT services.

"Re-signing the contract has been an easy decision for both the management and the Board at Powercor-CitiPower given the long, successful relationship with CSC over the last seven years," said Glen McLean, general manager IT services, Powercor-CitiPower.

No request for tender was issued prior to the deal.
