BigPond has announced its latest effort to attract more customers to its online music store; the Australian Idol winner's debut single.

BigPond said the 2004 Australian Idol winner's debut single will be available to download from BigPond immediately following the winner's announcement on Sunday night.

The winner's recording of "Listen With Your Heart" unveiled by Idol finalists Casey Donovan and Anthony Callea last Sunday, will be available for fans on BigPond Music until 11:59 pm on Wednesday, prior to being available in stores on Monday, 29 November.

BigPond managing director, Justin Milne, said the single will cost AU$1.49 to download for BigPond members and AU$1.89 for non-members.

Milne is expecting the Australian Idol's single to be "the biggest ever paid legal music download in Australian history."

The Australian Idol Web site message board was inundated in September with posts following contestant Emelia Rusciano's call for users to be nice, with the show's producer, Grundy, saying messages were logged at the rate of one per second.

Grundy warned users that in using the message board fans must abide by the "member conduct" statement, available via a link on the message board main page.

The conduct notice states that users must not upload "any content that is unlawful, harmful, threatening, abusive... defamatory, vulgar, obscene... hateful, or racially, sexually, ethnically or otherwise objectionable or vilifying", and must not impersonate someone affiliated with the company.

Grundy said the site typically attracts around 15,000 postings a day.

To add to its customer pull, BigPond will also be making available the songs from last year's Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian.

Well! What can I say about the Aussie Idol, not very happy with outcome? How can an Aussie Idol forget their words over and over, and then won? I know one thing many people will not listen to the single when it comes out on the radio. B105 is a great radio station, but not great if they are force to play Casey forgettable one line that she can't remember. Anthony maybe little, but he did not made a fool to Aussie listeners.

    Hi,

This is in response to the 'Physio's comments. You are entitled to your opinion, as am I. But let me put it this way, have you ever had a memory blank, ever been so nervous that you lose sight reality momentarily, ever performed in front of thousands upon thousands of viewers - I doubt it. You cannot compare that talent of the idols based on a trivial mishap that obviously had no bearing on Casey's adoring fans. The Australian Idol show itself is about allowing talented people to perform and perhaps live out their dreams. Its about growing as an artist which I might add Casey did. I'm not saying Anthony was less deserving but I am saying Casey grew throughout the whole contest whereas Anthony didn't except in image but anyone can change their image. Casey is one of those artist that inspires you, touches your heart with her beautiful voice and her singing comes from the heart. So what if she forgot her lines the point is she recovered unscathed. You are only one person that will not buy her CD but you are in the minority compared to the majority of fans that will. You go Casey, you're one of the finest female Australian artist we have and we're proud. We adore everything about you and you deserve to be where you are.
