The Disability Information and Resource Centre have created EnableNet to foster an online sense of community by providing chat rooms, message areas and a place for fun and games. It also plans to be a one-stop-site for information on all aspects of disability, with over 2,700 summarised and indexed links. The News and Events section contains media releases and details of Australian and international disability related conferences, workshops and seminars.
-Everyone will at sometime in their lives be touched by disability and so EnableNet will benefit all members of the community," said Neil Lillecrapp, director of the Disability Information and Resource Centre. -EnableNet provides a meeting place where people with and without a disability can come together, learn about each other and break down some of the barriers, prejudices and misconceptions surrounding disability."
The funding is provided by the South Australian Government through the Department of Human Services. EnableNet will be launched on March 15.

Fantastic to see this happening, I am working in an individualised planning and support role and would love to promote a site where individuals with a disability and their family and their network could share the journey to getting the supports they want and living a life of their own.
