-Our goal is the real integration between server side products and Web tool products," John Treloar, country manager for Australia/New Zealand, told ZDNet Australia. -It enables people to create sites that are more dynamic and personal."
A significant part of the launch was spent demonstrating how Flash MX could be used in a commercial context, in order to change Web use from -browsing" to -doing".
Macromedia claims that the current practice of read only communications and page refreshes should give weight to Rich Interactive applications. It is also making these applications independent, targeting the growing market of Internet-enabled mobile phones and handhelds.
-Flash will become a very normal corporate tool," said Treloar. -Ninety percent of the top ten Web sites have large Flash content, and around 60 percent of the top 100 Web sites have large Flash content."
Whilst he acknowledged that some companies are hesitant in using Flash, but said he couldn't work out why. He claimed the common argument that it was bandwidth heavy was no longer valid.
Macromedia is hosting -how-to" sessions for designers and developers starting Monday and Tuesday next week in Sydney and Melbourne.
The next product to be launched will be ColdFusion MX.
