The tour follows similar recent trade missions to Silicon Valley, and are part of federal trade facilitation agency Austrade's push to double Australia's ICT exports over the next five years.
Tom Robson, project manager of Austrade's ICT global team, told ZDNet Australia that the tour to Poland, Czech Republic and Germany was scheduled for October.
-We're pushing much more towards a tailored market visit program for each of the companies," Robson said.
According to Robson this aimed to target whether the participants were trying to find commercial or strategic partners in these countries.
Potential language barriers also needed to be taken into account, admitted Robson. -In any sort of export plan language and language barriers need to be very well thought out," he said.
European governments and government organisations will be spending considerable resources over coming years in order to comply with 2005 eEurope deadlines set by the European Commission, according to information from Austrade.
Among the areas Austrade has identified as having potential for Australian businesses are e-security and applications or services which are specific to the running of government departments or local authorities.
