Aust developer targets US market

Australian software developer Prophecy International has inked a partnership agreement with US solutions provider OTS, to gain access to the lucrative US federal government sector.

Bruce Lakin, CEO at Prophecy International, said the agreement with Office Technology Solutions (OTS) increased the opportunities for the software developer to sell its e-Foundation technology to large government and commercial organisations which were clients of OTS.

Lakin admits that it has been hard to break into the US market, where potential customers can often be sensitive to brand recognition. -I think that is always the challenge for Australian companies," said Lakin. -Brand recognition is a big issue, as is ability to support business development across a country as big as the US."

Although Prophecy has had a presence in the US for eight years, it has recently been ramping this up, and is aiming for three times growth in the States within the next two years. -The board of Prophecy have stated their ambition to grow the company significantly in the US," he said.
