Australia's Arrow research has released ArrowShop, an online transaction service that uses Arrow's accountancy system to offer an e-commerce site that features double firewall security and online credit card processing.
The key to ArrowShop, a commerce module of the Arrow Accounting product, is that it has live stock processing. -If you are making customers do the job of an orders clerk, you had better make sure that your own accounts and stock and other data are protected and handled correctly," according to Arrow marketing manager Michelle Rickards.
Security is achieved, Arrow claims, through the use of a secondary virtual server with an isolated accounts database. This process, according to the company, should only provide customers with information that the operator manually links into the database.
Updates can be made live and accounts interacted with, as ArrowShop is a multi-tier product. The shop area is created using a series of extended HTML templates. The commerce module has a full 32 bit integrated windows development tool and they claim it is connectable with Microsoft SQL, IBM DB2 and the Pervasive SQL database systems.
