ANZ appoints new CIO

ANZ Bank has promoted 10-year company veteran Peter Dalton to its chief information officer (CIO) position following the departure of Mark Willis.

Dalton had been acting CIO since Willis' departure in June. Prior to this, Dalton was chief technologist, consumer and business technology, in the bank's personal division.

The appointment is effective immediately, ANZ said in a statement sent to ZDNet Australia today.

The bank has also created the new senior IT position of managing director, operations, to be filled by Graeme Hosking.

Hosking was previously managing director of global banking and cash operations at Deutsche Bank.

Hosking will start at ANZ on November 6.

Both new appointments will report to group managing director, operations, technology and shared services, Mike Grime.
