ANZ Bank loses its CIO

in brief ANZ Bank today confirmed its chief information officer Mark Willis had left the company.

"Mark is no longer with ANZ, he left at the end of June, and we're hoping to have a replacement by the end of September," a spokesperson for the bank told ZDNet Australia this afternoon.

Willis took up the position just 18 months ago, coming from Standard Chartered Bank in Asia.

Like most large financial groups, the ANZ has a wide range of technology projects currently on the boil, including a new consumer-facing online banking system.

The bank also carries out a substantial amount of IT work offshore at a facility in Bangalore, and has reportedly progressively moved more work that way over the past few years.
