AFP seeks ICT infrastructure chief

in brief The Australian Federal Police (AFP) has advertised for a manager of ICT infrastructure to report directly to chief information officer Rudi Lammers.

A spokesperson for the organisation could not confirm if the position is a new one. Lammers himself is fairly new to his role, taking it up earlier this year after a 26-year policing career.

The full-time ICT infrastructure role, which is classified in band one of the government's senior executive service ranking scheme, will be responsible for the AFP's business as usual activities, according to the advertisement: desktop and network (voice and data) support, datacentres, production applications and more.

"High calibre candidates will have a track record of leading a significant government or business technology-related organisation," the advertisement adds. The candidate will need to demonstrate experience in IT operations, application of ITIL processes, and timely and effective delivery of services to a business organisation."
