in brief Woodside has signed a three-year AU$30 million deal with IT services outsourcer CSC.

Under the deal, CSC will provide the resources giant with datacentre hosting, enterprise monitoring, helpdesk, desktop support, database administration, data recovery, asset management, server support and change management services.

A spokesperson for Woodside told ZDNet Australia that the three-year contract follows the completion of a one-year deal with CSC for the same services.

CSC's clients in the resources sector include OneSteel, Newmont, BlueScope Steel, Xstrata and Rio Tinto. During the first quarter of 2007 CSC also inked major deals with Western Australia's Water Corporation, the Department of Defense and BHP Billiton. BlueScope's contract with CSC is potentially worth AU$480 million over the next eight years if it takes up extension options.
