EDS nabs AU$372m services deal with CommBank By Liam Tung, ZDNet Australia July 04, 2007 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/business/soa/EDS-nabs-AU-372m-services-deal-with-CommBank/0,139023166,339279543,00.htm
in brief Texan outsourcing giant, EDS, today announced it nabbed an AU$372 million 5-year IT-services contract with the Commonwealth Bank of Australia (CBA), boosting the total value of its CBA contracts to a tidy AU$772 million. Under the new contract, EDS will be responsible for supporting CBA's service desk, including 44,000 desktop devices, 3,300 ATMs, 1,000 facsimile machines, e-mail services and security for mobile information systems. CBA group executive CIO, Michael Harte, said, "EDS has stepped up to the quality and service challenge ... The latest re-signing is a reflection that EDS has raised the bar and will deliver significantly enhanced business outcomes." The deal follows a US$410 million master IT&T Agreement CBA signed with EDS last year, covering its mainframe, midrange services and data storage until 2012. The partnership between EDS and CBA began in 1997 with a 10-year agreement for IT services.
