Telstra has sealed a multi-million dollar contract with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC), with the national broadcaster deciding to award its fixed and mobile services to the telecommunications provider.

The AU$7 million contract for Telstra over two years with a further one-year option, was put to tender last year with other large providers bidding for the rights to deliver ABC's telecommunications requirements.

Telstra managing director of Industry Sales, Pat Fuery, said the deal would see Telstra retain the provision of the ABC's mobile services including fixed-to-mobiles and extend its commitment to include the delivery of fixed line connections.
