IBM Global Services flying high with contract win By Vivienne Fisher, ZDNet Australia August 08, 2002 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/news/business/soa/IBM-Global-Services-flying-high-with-contract-win/0,139023166,120267253,00.htm
IBM Global Services Australia has signed a deal which will see the services provider managing Air New Zealand's IT systems. The deal is a renewal of an outsourcing agreement which was first signed in 1997, according to a statement relating to the agreement. "The original contract had IBM Global Services providing mainframe maintenance to Air New Zealand," the statement said. "Since then the scope of services has broadened to include mainframe, midrange, Web and Linux services." Andrew Care, acting CIO at Air New Zealand, said that it had needed a partner which had the experience to handle the complexities of its IT environment. A spokesperson from Air New Zealand was unavailable to make further comment at time of going to press.
