auDA has suspended Internet Name Group's provisional accreditation following the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission's announcement that it is taking legal action against the company in the Federal Court.

Chris Disspain, CEO at .au Domain Administration (auDA) said the domain name reseller will not be able to refer to itself as a provisionally-accredited registrar until the action is finalised.

According to a statement issued by auDA, it has received a significant number of complaints relating to Internet Name Group's conduct.

-Having carefully considered the matter auDA holds the view that there is a question as to whether ING [Internet Name Group] is capable of complying with the terms of auDA's registrar agreement and published policies," Disspain said.

Internet Name Group was one of ten applicants that were granted provisional accreditation by auDA late last year.

A spokesperson from Internet Name Group could not be reached for comment at the time this story went to press.
