Up to 25 IT and marketing staff reportedly turned up to work at Dingo Blue today, only to be handed pink slips and asked to leave. Operations have been thrown into chaos at the company as multiple sackings cause confusion and delays across the company's departments. Staff at the ISP and mobile phone vendor have confirmed the multiple sackings, saying it was impossible to deal with enquiries on any level as they were not sure who was available to take the call. One staff member who refused to be named said that at least 20 people from the marketing and IT departments were given their marching orders. -We just can't get anything done at the moment," said one staff member. -I don't expect we will be able to deal with any enquiries for the next couple of days, it is a major restructure." The job losses come despite a $55 millon capital injection from ASX listed parent company AGL who bought the telco tike from Cable & Wireless Optus late last year for $21 million. The ultilities giant originally bought into Dingo Blue as part of a spate of investment in IT and internet focussed companies including TransACT and COMindico. The August announcement of net losses of $301.6 million from the Natural Gas Corporation, a 66 percent owned subsidiary of AGL, may have contributed to a fiscal tightening across the companies operations. Neither Dingo Blue nor AGL were available to comment officially at this stage.
