"UBank is offering customers more convenient and accessible ways to stay in touch with their money, as they spend more time online and use the internet to carry out day-to-day transactions," NAB Personal Banking spokesperson Sam Plowman said in a statement today.

"UBank Anywhere will soon make account information quickly, easily and securely available for customers, on their preferred online destinations," he added.

Upon installing the UBank Anywhere application in social media sites or smartphones, users will be required to verify their account via a unique code sent in a text message.

According to UBank, 80 per cent of log-ins to the website are just customers checking their balance and as an added level of security for the application, customers will be limited to just checking their balance through the application. Customers who wish to perform a transaction from the application will be redirected to the UBank website.

UBank Anywhere was launched at the Finovate conference in San Francisco today and is expected to be made available to customers later this year.
