This is corruption at it's best.

re Conroy showing his colours (What's new ?)

And he makes it so blatently obvious. Either he is an absolute dill, or is happy to spit in the eye of all taxpayers, and simply let us know that he'll do it his way, no matter what it costs. Right now it would appear that he does not give a stuff what the Aussie taxpayer thinks. It is high time we got rid of this GOON !

Key Point from article

Yvette D'Ath said people were often referred to jobs for which they might be suitable.

"We shouldn't begrudge someone for having a referee who may be a minister," she said.

This is the way it always happens in private industry. So what if the referer was a minister. Odds on that there are many liberal ministers who rered their friends to cushy jobs, and probably govt jobs rather than private. If it was a govt job then and only then could it be corruption.

Corrupt but not illegal?

"If it was a govt job then and only then could it be corruption."

That's not quite true. Whether or not the job is in the Government does not matter. The appointment can be "corrupt" within the generally accepted meaning of the term without being criminally corrupt. Nepotism, and that is what this would seem to be, is a corruption of the process; hence, the appointment is corrupt!

Private industry

"This is the way it always happens in private industry."

Private industry is, well, private. What they do with their money is for the shareholders to complain about.

Here we are dealing with a government quango. It is taxpayer's money that's being thrown at this individual by Conroy.

The process has been corrupted; with the correct process we would most likely get a cheaper resource with more appropriate experience.

Instead we have an expensive resource with inappropriate experience being funded by the taxpayer.

Quango = Hide the truth

Making something a quango and then calling it "private" while getting $43 BILLION of taxpayer money is just a shady way of avoiding any questions. It's NOT a private company if ifs getting $43 billion in taxpayer money. But I doubt much will happen. This "private" NBN will be filled with plenty of people from the inner circle of the "boys club."

NBN apponts Kaiser?

$450 k per year for a vote rorter. And I am supposed to have faith in this Government. Excuse me but less fortunate people have to put up with interviews and waiting lists but not Kaiser. This is not corruption? NBN is a Qango-(Quasi -Autonomous Non-Government Organisation) and one of the first appointments is a man without ethics. Good Government-what does that say to tax-payers.
