Jeevaratnam had been sales and marketing VP at Avanade Australia, where he had moved after he finished his role as managing director of the Australian and New Zealand branch of AT&T. He has also worked for IBM.

He will report to former local Avanade head, Craig Dower, who will step up to manage the Asia Pacific region as APAC president and general manager South East Asia, Australia and China. Dower has held the Australia and New Zealand role since July 2007 and has also worked at Coles, NetStar, Lucent Technologies and EDS.

"Jeyan has done a terrific job in leading our sales efforts over the past two years, and brings more than 20 years' experience in a variety of sales and management roles in the information communications technology industry," Dower said in a statement.
