Canberra is hunting for another chief information officer (CIO), with the role at the Australian Crime Commission (ACC) currently up for grabs.
The ACC is responsible for investigating organised crime. It works with state and territory police forces as well as other Commonwealth agencies to collect and analyse criminal intelligence.
Officially titled general manager, national information and communications technology, the CIO role will manage service delivery and the continuing development of the national criminal intelligence database.
The CIO will report to the executive director, infrastructure and corporate services, according to an advertisement.
A salary of $125,000 plus vehicle is being offered.
The successful applicant would be in charge of some long-term IT planning, involving "assessing and developing strategic information plans and technology requirements in line with business directions and objectives, taking an organisation-wide and long term perspective."
The CIO would also have to "provide leadership in the application of industry standard best practise frameworks" as part of providing IT services.
Applicants for the position should have "substantial knowledge" of information management and ICT relevant to dynamic law enforcement, the advertisement said.
In addition to the CIO role, the ACC is also recruiting for general manager, national intelligence collection and analytics (ICA).
