Looking for a job requires a positive attitude and careful planning. This means:

  • Deciding on the kind of work you want before you start

  • Planning your job search and how you will organise jobs you have applied for and which ones you haven't

  • Collecting and organising all the relevant information about yourself and making sure that it is seen by prospective employers, i.e.. getting all your resume and covering letter ready

  • Spending as many hours each day preparing for and looking for work either online or visiting such places as CES

  • Being prepared to change your lifestyle when searching for a job, i.e.. dress-sense, if necessary

  • Keeping folders containing your job search information and applications so you are thoroughly prepared to write the applications and attend the job interviews at short notice and without stress

  • Learning from each interview
