Apple is offering Mac users a free download (www.apple.com.au) that allows users to create and manage their own music library.
iTunes jukebox software, let users import songs from their favourite CDs, compress them into MP3 format and store them on their computer's hard drive. In other words, you're creating your own personal jukebox and loading it with all the songs you want, rather than have to waste time skipping songs you have no interest in.
It allows users to organise their music collection by using real-time search engines and single-click browsing by artist, album or genre. Other features include being able to view a visual representation of the music being played, which is synched to the beat of the music.
Best of all, iTunes does not impose limits on the number of songs you can convert to MP3 format (it can encode songs at bit rates up to 320 Kbps) which means you can burn as many CDs as you like, at the fastest speed supported by your Apple CD drive, CD-RW drive, or DVD-R/CD-RW Superdrive.
