The 2009 edition of Microsoft's premier Australian developer conference, Tech.Ed, kicked off this morning at the Gold Coast with over 2000 attendees on hand.
Microsoft's own Windows 7 and Office 2010 products will no doubt lead the technologies that are to be discussed, demonstrated and debated over the next three days.

I've attended quite a few TechEd's over the years and this one failed to deliver. It started with a really lame, directionless keynote, and was clearly on a tight budget. There were fewer vendors exhibiting than usual, and no big name presenters. Some of the technical sessions were of a very poor quality. Did Microsoft skimp of the 'education' part of TechEd in order to dish out HP mini's They're a nice toy, but cutting back on international speakers in favour of hardware handouts isn't what some delegates were after.
