Windows XP SP3
Microsoft has released to manufacturers the final code for Windows XP SP3. The public version will be available for download via the web on 29 April. Based on our initial installation, the upgrade will be effortless for most Windows XP users.

SP3 Failed to install Anonymous -- 14/05/08

AS an early adopter I endeavoured to download and install SP3 for Windows XP Home Edition (as in the graphics attached to the article)
When it did not install I went to the Discussion Groups and found many others with the same problem. I applied all the suggested fixes to no avail then contacted Microsoft for assistance. It would appear MS Aust is yet to be in a position to assist particularly when you have an OEM version of Win XP

my problems with sp3 Anonymous -- 16/05/08 (in reply to #320101700)

I tried to install the sp3 update from Microsoft's site and my computer would boot to a blue screen. I had to have a tech from Friendly Computers come to my house to fix my computer. It took him about 45 minutes, and their rates were really reasonable. I am not sure what the problem was, but if you are having any problems, I recommend their services. Their site is www.friendlycomputers.com and you can find the closest location on their site.
