An address bar in every window
A new feature within IE 7 for XP SP2 adds an address bar to pop-up windows, allowing you to determine whether you want to view that content (advertising, for example). This feature is currently available in Firefox.
Am a bit confused about this public download and wonder if someone could/would,clarify something for me.If I were to download this product,does it automatically wipe out your present/permanent IE 6.0?.Thank you muchly
IE7 Beta 2 is as it says a Beta product so you should use at your own risk. Using a beta product on your main work PC is asking for trouble.
If you wish to proceed, some beta testers have suggested backing up your hardware profile specifically using System Restore (a manually named restore point not the normal one which Windows does automatically).
If you don't then there is a chance that because this is a beta there may be issues that will cause the uninstallation to fail, meaning you will have to reinstall windows.
Like all betas, if you're not prepared to deal with the bugs and potential side-effects, then stick with the current stable versions.

Because of this, we do not support the various hacks that allow side by side running of IE6 and the IE7 Beta 2 Preview. Running with these could cause issues with the stability of a system."

It's just more MS crud used to force users to install the slow and pathetic XP SP2.

It would be an insult to other browser makers to say that IE7 B2 preview looks anything like other browsers.
The only resemblence it has to other browsers is the tabs (sort of) and the quick search bar.
To me, IE7 resembles Windows Media Player 10, more than anything else.
