"Like Google Chrome, Opera 9.6 beta presents you with a series of boxes in the main browser window. Opera dubs them its "speed dial" feature."

Serious? opera made it, everyones stolen it.

I have been using this feature in opera for ages. It is very useful and I know for a fact the other browsers didn't have it

Facts, what facts? Jimbo -- 17/09/08

Come on copycat. Renai isn't a REAL journalist who checks facts against prior knowledge and what not. He's "writing" for Australia's premier online word-vomit repository. Frankly, that should have given it away right there. Journalists are an endagered species these days and only exist in small numbers at publicly funded media outlets or in two person 'investigation units' in the for-profit press.

What you get these days is dimwits who re-type press releases as fast as they can without pause or thought.

I can't wait for his next article about the new Safari and how it has taken a leaf out of the IE8 playbook and included tabbed browsing. Wow!

Is this slideshow for real? Ownassis -- 17/09/08

Looks like it's been done by a 6 year old. If so, it's pretty good for a 6 year old.

yes google chrome, firefox, ie all copied opera.

google and firefox should have credited Opera highly for innovative ideas. (but did not)

opera is the only browser that supports MDI now

    Opera 9.6 is faster Anonymous -- 23/09/08

Yes I am happy that Opera is going to match chrome and Mac for speed. I am happy with the latest beta version But I still have to use chormes ingogneto (porn mode) to veiw my favour porn sites. Actually why was this feature around 10 year ago? because porn was. Other than that when the stable verson is avaulable I might be changing the default web browser

    Opera 9.6 James -- 20/08/09

It was interesting to witness Conroy's recent enthusiasm to spruik the NBN's role in supporting the Smart Grid, Smart City initiative. What a pity that Conroy hadn't yet seen the damning report from the Victorian auditor-general about that state's smart-meter roll-out.
