Storage association launches ANZ chapter

The Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA) has officially formed a base in Sydney to advance its cause in Australia and New Zealand.

"Our mission is to promote storage networking, and the associated technologies exclusively in Australia and New Zealand and to ensure that storage networks become efficient, complete and trusted solutions within these IT communities," SNIA ANZ said in a statement.

Headquartered in San Francisco, the six-year-old non-profit trade organisation comprises the who's who of the storage world including EMC, Brocade, Hitachi Data Systems, Veritas, Seagate and StorageTek. Non-storage vendors and individuals interested in promoting storage can also be a part of the group.

Membership to the ANZ chapter will consist of three levels:

  • Voting member (A$10,000).
  • General member (A$2,500).
  • Individual member (A$150).
