Hackers have gotten a really bad wrap over the years. All a hacker is, is someone who has the ability to find their way into a computer system that they aren't supposed to be in. Most hackers that I know do it for kicks, or just to see what they can see; it's more of a curious hobby than it is a malevolent occupation. There's really no gain to being a hacker, in most cases.
