On the Mac OS (screenshot), choose Safari > Preferences. On Safari for Windows, choose Edit > Preferences
In the General tab, you can set up many options such as Save downloaded files to: and Open "safe" files after downloading.
CERT/CC recommends that you save downloaded files to a temporary folder that you create for downloading files.
For security reasons, be sure to uncheck the Open "safe" files after downloading option.
Where's the "running" Safari safely bit?
I'm not seeing anything, except not giving Appel your e-mail address and not downloading QuickTime (which a lot of people will already have anyway - if you have iTunes, you get QuickTime).
ZDNet has obviously become a buncho of wankers with no real stuff.

I did exactly as was recommended,knowing full well there is problems with Quicktime.It is,to me,a superb browser,small,concise,very fast,no silly toolbars to play with,fully functional with much more room on screen for the user.Just have to go into preferences and get rid of Apple as the start page,insert your own.With this great browser,I can finally sideline the IE7 which is too bulky,far too slow and cumbersome.Highly recommend it.
