I am by no means a computer (programmer), I am an electronics technician. From my 30 plus years experience in fixing anything I put my mind to I have to say that although I love My PC and the Internet in whole, why do I, and everyone else have to be forced to spend so much time, effort and MORE money just to keep malware out? It should't be there in the first place, and companies want to make money- as they should be, but that's beside the point -it is a daily part of our lives. I have cash tied up in this which is fine, just so I can go online and have some fun. It's COOL. It's so cool, that it's (almost) worth dealing with the the nonsense in putting up with trojans and spyware, etc. but not worth the crazyness when data is permanently lost -and after spending so much time downloading or obtaining our personal data? So we continue to back up our stuff, we end up with 2 or 3 copies of each program, game, and mp3 files that we really can't risk losing- but we still spent all that money to buy our PC equip. to begin with and not to mention protecting it all, and ourselves. I know you all feel the same out there, and as I listen to my most favorite WEB Radio station right now, I have to complain about problems of the PC. I remember hearing that "the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over again and again expecting a different result" or something like that. ...I can only say in the end, that I do love my PC, and I keep my HD clean as possible. Does that mean I'm nuts? :)
you and your high tech speech, you still didnt answer the subject
your current anit-virus musnt be working very well if its managed to keep you from replying to that post for 3 months =P, but i kid, seriously, i use AVG free and Spybot Search n Destroy, it picks up almost all viruses, even if it is a little slow with updates... I use virtual keyboards for online banking n what not, so keyloggers aint an issue, and seriously, 1 only gets malware by clicking something they shouldnt, keep your head straight, remember your in the wilds of the internet and u should be fine....

Hope they fix the bugs that has been hurting Norton for a long time:
Hogging system resources,
bug with FireFox
dreaded red cross for minor items eg dont backup for 2 weeks,
phishing filter turned off...
It looks good, but looks are the least important.
What is important is:
It protects the computer
no hogging of resources
no bugs that need a computer programmer to fix
no annoying interruptions
Sadly for a PAYING protection suite it is these things that Norton does very well (and it shouldn't)
