The explosively popular BlackBerry has recently had a new incarnation: the BlackBerry Bold. Will it be an iPhone killer? Check out our photo gallery and decide for yourself.

BlackBerry-maker RIM has been showing off the latest addition to its smartphone line-up at the Wireless Enterprise Symposium (WES) in Orlando, Florida — named the BlackBerry Bold.

The Bold has a shiny black face and curved silver edges — but unlike Apple's iPhone device however, it does not have a touchscreen interface. Instead a generous QWERTY keyboard with sloped keys for more accurate typing takes pride of place. There is also a trackball scroller and additional navigation buttons, and the graphical user interface offers a tiled grid of clickable icons which are scrolled through via the trackball.

The device packs HSDPA — RIM's first 3.5G smartphone.

The Bold is 114mm x 66mm x 14mm — slightly thicker and wider than the iPhone, and like Apple's smartphone, it has a 2-megapixel camera.

The screen is 480x320 pixels — a high-resolution display which RIM reckons more than makes up for the lack of a larger, touchscreen display especially when other factors — such as battery life and cost — are factored in.

Here the Bold is shown running a Matrix trailer.
