Optus staff are steadily moving into the telecommunications giant's brand new eight hectare campus in Sydney's North Ryde, and if appearances are anything to go by, the old North Sydney headquarters will soon be forgotten.

By the end of this month, the AU$350 million Macquarie Park development will be home to around 6,500 staff.

The site design is right up there among top corporate campuses, with work areas separated by carefully landscaped gardens, and a range of food outlets and bars for staff to mingle in outside work hours. There are also childcare facilities, a gym, basketball court, and Wi-Fi coverage across the campus.

Optus CEO Paul O'Sullivan has described the site and surrounding technology companies as "becoming Australia's answer to Silicon Valley". He expects many Optus suppliers and customers to move into the area as well.

We toured the campus and put together this photo gallery of the new Optus HQ.

    No pictures of general workspaces.

Only the gaudy call centre, that I believe will give headaches ;-)

    Optus - What service? Anonymous -- 26/10/07

I own a business and have been loyal to Optus with Telephony; Mobile fleet; Internet and hosting for quite a number of years now. I have spent good money to never have a call returned from the local business office with raft of excuses over the past 6 months. My loyalty is dwindling, but I do not want Telstra.
Would llove to hear froma senior director of Optus who would like to service its customers and here about it so called business direct area.
