Photos: Optus's new home By Steven Deare, ZDNet Australia October 19, 2007 URL: http://www.zdnet.com.au/insight/communications/soa/Photos-Optus-s-new-home/0,139023754,339283065,00.htm
Optus staff are steadily moving into the telecommunications giant's brand new eight hectare campus in Sydney's North Ryde, and if appearances are anything to go by, the old North Sydney headquarters will soon be forgotten. By the end of this month, the AU$350 million Macquarie Park development will be home to around 6,500 staff. The site design is right up there among top corporate campuses, with work areas separated by carefully landscaped gardens, and a range of food outlets and bars for staff to mingle in outside work hours. There are also childcare facilities, a gym, basketball court, and Wi-Fi coverage across the campus. Optus CEO Paul O'Sullivan has described the site and surrounding technology companies as "becoming Australia's answer to Silicon Valley". He expects many Optus suppliers and customers to move into the area as well. We toured the campus and put together this photo gallery of the new Optus HQ. ![]()
